I Know! I Know!

Just want to give everybody a 'heads up'. If you want to know anything, I have THE resource....my seventeen year old son.

Sample conversation (recent, in fact):

"You know, son, if you need help with anything, Paul and I are here for you. We're pretty good resources."

"Can you help me find a job?"

(*note - the last time I helped him with this venture, he refused to let me go in with him. I was simply the chauffer.)

"Well, when I was in town the other day, I noticed a help wanted sign at KFC"

"Can I borrow your car to get there?"

"Um, something wrong with yours?"

"I have no gas."

"Hmmm, I see. So, it looks to me like you wasted your gas gallivanting all weekend..."

"I know! I know!"

"So, now you've used your gas, you want to use mine."

"I know! I know!"

"Might I suggest that knowing you have important and responsible things to take care of, that you plan your limited resources a little more wisely to include them?"

"I know! I know!"

"So if you know, why didn't you do that?"

"Well, now I know."

Gawsh, he's SO smart! I just didn't want to keep this smartness ALL to myself, in case anybody else needed such smartness in THEIR lives.....

One thing, though. Brilliance has its limits. Do NOT ask him where his belt is. He doesn't know.

Peace, even to the 17 year old whom I love

Love it Elf~ He is a lucky boy to have you. I guess for a seventeen year-old the "I Know" dialogue is probably better than a litany of colorful adjectives slang based coming at you? Ah, to be 17 and to know everything again....
Thanks for sharing!

thanks PT. Those colorful adjective conversations have happened as well...:)

and funny - we had another conversation, where I employed the same tactic and replied "I know, I know" to everything he was tryng to tell me. His reaction was priceless.

Thanks for sharing this brilliance. I lost my belt years ago, and I think I'm out of gas. Love to Sean
