Forward is Best

Yogurt and granola for breakfast. Veggie burgers and cottage cheese for supper. Carrot sticks, cherries, apples for lunch. Glass of tomato juice. No coffee with xtra xtra xtra cream - just tea, black. (haven't been to dunkin donuts all week, saving money if nothing else) Commitment to excercise.
Lifestyle change. Have to do it. Not happy about it. I don't LIKE to eat breakfast. I like coffee with lots of half & half. I like big juicy steaks, marbled with crispy fat. Roast beef smothered with gravy. I like cream cheese frosting. Which was fine, until my life became sedentary. Lesson learned - never stop moving. and forward is best.

Gotta do what we gotta do. It'll be aight. But I am a little moody right now...like a kid who has to do something they don't want to. "why can't I have what I want??!!!!!"

Okay, on Saturday June 6, when H is here, I wondered if we could all take a hike in the woods, early, so that we're back at the house by noon. It takes about 2 hours. Not all hiking, though. There is a moderate climb, a little off the path, up a good size rock where we like to stop and enjoy the view and rest. But we don't have to do that. Then a little further down the path there is a very old cemetary in the woods, in great condition, considering. We always spend a little time there, too. The last leg is a dirt road. Paige, do you think you will be up to that? X & M usually bring Beau, you and N could bring Sadie. If not, don't sweat it. Perhaps X & M would stop by and pick up Sadie, and you guys could follow a little later?

We can grill stuff when we get back from the hike, swordfish, veggie burgers, portabellas, salads and fruit. I think I'll make a gazpacho. We'll have the badminton/vollyball net up, and the cribbage board out, in the event any one is up for some competition type play. Of course if it is quite hot, there is the paddle boat, and kayaks and swimming for the courageous. I'm thinking the water will still be very cold. And when we are worn out, we'll get the fire going and sit around fixing the world, and eating ice cream, from Buttonwoods.

Sound okay?

Peace -

Hey! I thought we agreed to not lose weight...now I have to diet too? Fine

That sounds like a fun day. Exactly the kind of stuff I was imagining. Although, I've never had swordfish in my life...does it hurt?

Love the bottom pic.

Hi Elf...
YAY! Sounds really wonderful-just what the Doc ordered. Sadie & I definitely on the hike...N may be questionable as she needs a total knee replacement. (In the early
80's before arthroscopic stuff she had the "remove all cartlidge" procedure now called malpractice)Yep, a bummer she is putting off dealing with-not sure why? :-)

I hate diets, but LOVE every item you listed. H, Swordfish is like a fish-steak, not as strong fishy wise as a tuna steak-a little like shark-can't think of the name....

I know Sadie will be in the water since she was in the ocean in January. Evidently, she doesn't mind cold water, wild women...she has got a little X goddess within her. Good for you on the lifestyle changes and commitment to forward motion and health! I admire that kind of willpower. Rock on Sisterfriend!
