"Should" Bears No Weight

Remember how I said nothing could make a Friday bad? Humph. How naive. Let me just re-word a little bit. Fridays CAN be bad, but what makes the bad tolerable is that it is the last day the company owns my soul, an then I can regain ownership for two days.

This particular Friday about which I speak, I have been assigned a task that, Number One - should not be mine to do, VERY scurvy and unprofessional. And Number Two, - is going to be VERY unpleasant. I'm dealing with a little bit of anger around this. At least there are two of us doing this - but neither one of us should be.

Oh well. Suck it up. Like 'shoulds' ever hold weight.

Pizza and movie night at home. We haven't had anything good from NetFlicks in a while, so I've been watching On Demand. Some pretty strange shit on there. Donnie Darko, for one. I really really liked Avenue Montaigne. Its subscripted, but so damn cute I grinned during the whole film. Don't know what we'll end up watching tonight. Maybe I'll stop and buy something. Usually if we don't have a movie, we end up watching CSI, but we've seen most of them. I need a good season of something. Might be a night for a fire in the fireplace and Cribbage....

Haven't heard back from the 'doctor'. That is a good thing, right? Paul says it is. No decision means I'm still a contender. I'm sick with anxiety - another case of head not matching gut. Head says "not that important, can't control anything, let it unfold as it should...", gut says, "is there a bathroom close by??"

We need to put together a list of possible activity options for Harry to choose from for his visit with us. The plan is that Thursday he will fly in - find his way to VTown, and acclimate. So we have Friday and Saturday, and Sunday its back to the airport for him. God, I'm crying already. What a sap. Next year we will have to plan to head out to TN to see him - right team?

I want to put on the list a get together for fun and games at my house on Saturday, with y'all. Just a hanging loose sort of thing...but put your brains to work and see if you can think of other things we can put out for H to choose from. I thought I'd suggest a trip to Block Island for one of the days. Or Gillettes Castle? Newport? White Water Rafting? Even the Casino might go on the list, maybe there is a show. I wondered about a day trip to NY, too, for a show. :) Lets send H home tired. H - let us know if there is something you'd love to do.....
