If everyone agrees, would an end of August deadline to finish be workable for us?
Yesterday, again, the weather contributed to a very nice day. My goal was to weed and clean up the front of the house, and the side. I got the right side of the front trimmed and weeded, and part of the other half of the front. I figured out how to squat like a vietnamese - put your legs wide apart. My hamstrings and glutes are sore today.
El Nino working hard in a supervisory capacity -
A little neater, eh?
Break time -
Friends of Paul's stopped by, and one of them was very knowledgeable about landscaping and I solicited his help for ideas for the side of the garage. I now have a plan. In front of each section of split rail fencing I can envision an X. Even use string if I want. Next I plant Blue Rug Junipers within the triangles of the X, and an azalea in the middle. Bury the exposed ground with about 4-5 inches of mulch, and as many flat rocks as I can find, and leave it alone. I will continue with the Forsythias along the back of the split rail for contrast and some privacy. Nice. That is on my plate for early September.
Paul and I had a nice drive to X & M's house. Paul read from a nutritional newletter that he's started subscribing to, and we learned a lot about multi vitamins and the recommendations for water consumption, and the bottled water industry. Met X & M at their house at about 5pm, from where we went to a really good Indian restaurant, to celebrate Father's day with Paul. The restaurant building looks like it used to be an German Restaurant, or English Tavern or something, not very Eastern looking. We had a good meal, excellent conversation, as usual. Then headed off to the movie theater to see The Happening, which was quite missable.
We had to take a different route home, because on our way over we noticed the bride on Route 3 headed the opposite way was closed for construction. X assured us it was easy from the theater, and X - you were right. Easy, and no longer than the other way, either.
Paul and I crashed when we got home, about 11:30. We'd been outside most the day and were very tired. I didn't even wake up until 7:30 this morning.
Today its raining, a nice soft summer rain. I'm going to put some music on and start cleaning the inside of the house. Needs it pretty badly. Paul was supposed to seal the deck this weekend, but is off the hook today. I know he has some stuff to do for work. We'll try to fit a little Rock Band in our day, and my new thing is to go to Netflicks and watch instant episodes of stuff. I finished season three of The Office, which is one of the funniest shows I've seen. (Once you get used to the quasi 'documentary' style filming, and get used to the sort of exaggerated characters). So I'm now into Heroes. I think they have Weeds on there, too. I never finished season three of that and THAT was a funny show, too.
Peace

hey that's OUR indian restaurant!
i love how you spell "netflicks."
weeds is fantastic.
I have yet to do netflix instant viewing. But I bet it could get me in trouble at work...
Elf,
Love the office as much as I love Scrubs...great humor! I like Weeds too-and a drama Amazing Grace is good-but it may be I just like Holly Hunter a lot...
End of August on the book sounds fine-I like how influence Abe Lincoln was by Mary Todd...in my humble opinion he was one of the only Politicians who not only utilized the strengths of his wife and first lady-he acknowledged it, and empowered her. Too cool.
Glad my little-big girl Sadie was not there to pounce on El Nino's peace-yet wish I was sitting on your deck with her drinking the beer I didn't have when I was there because I had to drive!! Got the towel-Thanks Elf-I never would have remembered it...and N. well you know N. a little...she doesn't even know it is ours, bless her Birthday heart!!
Thanks! Paige
MTL by the end of Aug. I think doable although I'm still on Eleanor. She's starting to bore me now that they are in the whitehouse for like the 19th term...
