I hope all dogs are quiet and resting today?
Nikko is pouting. Poor thing.
I've been looking at overnight hikes, backpacking as it were. I've never done it, but have always been interested in trying it to see if I like it, and I found this one that looks like a good one to start with:
Appalachian Trail: Falls Village to Salisbury
Preview: There is so much to see and do on this hike that while the mileage (9.9 overall) suggests that a day hike is feasible, we recommend making it an overnight trip. The setting for the shelter and campsite midhike is extraordinary (and requires special effort to get there). Once at the site, most hikers will want to stay. Beyond this, both villages (Falls Village on the south end, Salisbury on the north) offer many good reasons to spend at least part of a day in town. This is a historically rich area, with a dramatic landscape traversed by the Appalachian Trail. Come for the weekend, and don't rush through.

Anyone interested?
Quiet day for me today. Laundry. Always laundry. Reading. Ordering some books on-line. Visiting with my son. We have things to talk about.
Wow, I just heard a BIG tree come down. Hope nobody is hurt.
The book about Mary Todd Lincoln is: Mary Todd Lincoln: A Biography by Jean Baker
Thanks everybody, for coming to play with me yesterday. It was fun.
Peace
