Life is a Beach

The torrential rains we had las week washed out a large gully in our beach. Paul spent yesterday installing a drain and attaching pipe to an existing pipe. We helped.

No job is complete without a team of consultants

A large amount of sand washed into the lake, so pulling it back out was part of the project.

Today the job will be tested, with a string of thunderstorms headed our way. Paul and I will be at the spa however, taking our chances.
We had an audience throughout the day. The neighbors to our right of course had to come out and get the scoop and check things out. So terribly annoying. It gets to me a lot more than it bothers Paul. With me I think its the hidden agenda thing I hate so much. The neighbors to which I refer just had new central air put in. She came out to ask if the noise of the compressor bothered us. Please. Just what were they planning to do about it if it did?? I turned around without the courtesy of even a greeting and walked away. Don't give me that shit, you hate when anybody else is making noise, like with a John Deere working on the beach. That was a veiled complaint. The neighbors on the other side, Bob, had to check things out, too. Bob has been like that as long as we've lived here. He is what he is. BUT, Nan's son is staying with them and he is totally creepy. Even Paul agrees there. Mel and I were shoveling sand while X & V took a swim. Nan's son sat in the chair and watched, in all his fat glory. Never saying a word. Paul said he was drinking beer, but I thought it was Pepsi. He appeared when the girls were down at the beach getting ready to swim, and hung out the whole time, except when he went into the water himself for a dip.
There is no grate over the drain yet. I was concerned someone (Bob) would forget it was there and break a leg falling in or something. I put a chair over it. Hopefully nobody will forget why the chair is there until we get the grate to cover it.
Well here comes the rain. This will be interesting.
Peace
