Nothing Much This Sunday Morning

My current winning streak on Free Cell is 53 games.

Just having my morning tea. Jasmine, to be precise. Waiting until my brain awakes before tackling some real activities for the day, although I did start the laundry, and it looks as if I can hang it outside to dry. Love it.

Opened my eyes to the sun this morning. What a pleasant surprise, since the predictions were for rain this morning. I haven't checked to see if the rain we received yesterday did much damage to the beach. The air is fresh and cool, what a nice relief from the swampiness of yesterday!

Paul left for the west coast before it was light this morning. He'll be gone until Friday. This will be a long week for me.

My baby will turn 18 on Tuesday. It will be sort of anticlimactic. He's in school full time, so far so good. We are getting him a car, and we are all trying to find him some steady work. Fingers very crossed toward that end.

I find I'm angry because I have to go to the doctor's on Friday. It is a rescheduled follow up appointment from the one I missed a few weeks ago. When I called to reschedule, (and apologize for missing the original appointment), I suggested that perhaps there was no need for this appointment, because it was to check my cholesterol, something thats done with lab work, and that perhaps the doctor could fill out the lab requisition and I could simply pick it up. The very nice person on the phone with me said, "why no, this is a follow up appointment. You will have to be here." So I will show up for the appointment, wait for 30 minutes or so until they are ready for me, then the assistant will weigh me, take my blood pressure and pulse, and ask me if I'm on new medications or if anything has changed. Hopefully I will be down a few pounds since last visit, but nothing will have changed. The doctor will step into the exam room, and write out a lab requisition to have my cholesterol checked. I will leave, after stopping at the desk. The whole process will take me an hour or better, and only 10 minutes work between the doctor and assistant, and he will have made over $100, plus my out of pocket copay. To check my blood pressure and write a lab slip. Oy. It eats my head.

Well, thats my rant for this morning. I'm trying to focus on stuff I'm grateful for. I guess I'm grateful for my washing machine, and what looks as if it will be a sunny clear day.

Peace, my friends.

Hi Elf,
A little down and out for me Sunday. In a similar space, i.e sick of things like Fat Cat Doctors who do "jack sht" often and just inconvenience us "lay people" who have equal intelligence but don't tell "Fat Cat" that...then they get people in their offices who kiss ass and worship them, so of course they act like it is critical you show when hello? You need the damn lab value!! Yeesh, I guess I can relate my friend! I wish you had a day off this week to hang, and break it up a little. No luck though huh? Hey-good for Sean-back to school? I didn't know! Yay!

actually, i topped at 107 winning streak before i stopped. i don't remember if i won my last game or gave up - i was so tired last night. i was freaking at 98, cause i wanted to get 100, and i had such a hard game. some are SO easy, but once in awhile there is a real tricky one. don't start trying - its sort of pathetic.
