Because Gabe has evolved into a sports fanatic he wanted to see the opening game of football season Monday night, especially since the Patriots were playing. We don't watch a lot of tv, so have the very basic of basic cable programming. After a long and fun day at the zoo, Gabe wasn't totally down with going out to catch the game. We explored some online options for viewing the game.
I refuse to have a P2P program on my computer, so those 'free' choices were out of the question. I found several satellite tv programs, for $40 to $50, which promise the purchaser would be able to watch anything they couldn't catch on regular tv - including sports. So I bought Satellite PC Pro. Paul said he would be interested in catching some of the Red Sox games that weren't aired on our cable package, and this product was guaranteed, after all. Whats to lose?

How can I be so naive?? It drives me crazy when I do things like this. But the sales pitch ASSURED each potential customer that if they were not completely satisfied, a 100% refund would be "rushed" to them. The download was easy peasy. I clicked on sports - there were 4 choices, one being ESPN. ESPN loaded and there was some kind of motor car racing being shown. The other options were no better. Not what I was hoping for. The quality of the picture was shit. I clicked on some other channels; crap, crap and more crap. Lots and lots of crap. Nothing at all worth $50. So I clicked on the support page. Before I was simply annoyed. But the "support" page? Sent me to the moon.
The support page included four links, two for non-members and two for members. The members only links were divided into two, one for billing support and one for technical support. I filled out the requested fields (email address, product code, date of purchase etc.), filled in the box for question/comments with "I am NOT completely satisfied with this product and request my refund". Next, click the submit button. Well, gosh and golly, wouldn't you know it. The submit button doesn't work. Try it again. Doesn't work. Try it again. Doesn't work. Try all sorts of different things...the only submit button that works is on the non-members page, a hook for another potential victim. I could not find any other way to contact this merchant. Unbelievable. I got scammed. It's a fucking scam and I got scammed. I should know better.
Yesterday, first thing in the morning, I went to my bank to see if I could stop payment on my card. I bank at a credit union and used my debit card. If I had used a credit card from a commercial bank, I could have stopped payment. Not their fault, but Paul said that I should do that from now on. I told him I don't intend for there to be a 'now on'. Mind now, I was totally embarrassed to sit in front of the nice lady and tell her I was stupid and could she fix it. She kept a dignified poker face, however and did not make it worse for me. But also told me that the only thing she could do for me was help me with a dispute on the charges. Very time consuming, but after we completed the paper work, she informed me that actually even if the dispute was approved, their insurance covers anything over $50. So I wouldn't get my money back anyway.
For Pete's sake. I want to hurt the fucking criminals who took my $50. It's a matter of pride.
When I got home I dissected the Satellite PC Pro page. This product uses ClickBank for payments, so I dissected the ClickBank site. I clicked link after link and blew up their site with requests for a refund. I actually think I may have found the correct one but many different departments will be seeing my name in their messages.
Crazy stuff.
Sincerely,
Elfscooter

This morning, I caught up on you...or at least your blog. Fun, fun! I love to read what you write-I pretty much smile the whole time. The part about skinny dipping kinda grossed me out, but that's just my puritan ancestry coming out, haha!
I should make an attempt at blogging again too-it's just so time consuming, and I have little time these days.
This morning I slept in until 5:30 (usually up @ 3:30). Did a bit of studying over coffee and cigs in the COLD outside. Had to turn the heat on last night. Anyhow, caught up with your blog-I miss our chats! Thanks for the long email last weekend-I treasure all of these, so keep them coming!
Today, I'm going to do a bit of cleaning this morning and then we're all heading off to: http://www.luckyladdfarms.com/ should be some good quality family time. Back to the grind tomorrow am.....That whole thing about how nursing school isn't that hard that I said in the beginning? I was full o crap! It's hard, demanding, and if I get one more vaccine-my arm will surely fall off! Have a grrrreat day! I think of you often...
