1. When I talked to my brother on Monday, he told me that he and his wife and son had managed a weekend get-a-way in Vermont. He said it was quiet and slow paced and he had a good time. Except he had to attend an hour long marketing pitch for a time share. Now here is where it gets cheesy - his son had bought the raffle ticket for a school fund raiser for a 'weekend getaway' and won! No indication it was one of those 'free' things we all know are really marketing ploys. Thats pretty cheesy! To have a KID spend his hard saved allowance on a chance to win (??!!) a sales pitch. Oh hey - we can sell raffle tickets for a chance to go to WalMart. Right? I'll donate the tickets.....
2. Next on my list would be to refer back to PT's Easter Seal's 'No Kid Left Inside' collection campaign. That is so cheesy it needs to be grilled on whole wheat and served with tomato soup.
3. Somebody I know who needed a ride to get their car out of the garage after it was fixed. After everybody they asked was unavailable to help, this person asked the last person, the one they didn't like, the one they whispered criticisms and gossips about behind their back. Low and cheese filled.
4. Buying a brand new computer, only to have to purchase a service to have it cleaned out of all the crap loaded into it so it works optimally. Fire Dog is cheesy.
5. One time I gave something to a neighbor upon request, no big deal because I didn't use it. But a few months later I found it in her yard sale. Big cheese.
Okay - thats all for my cheese list for today. Its a nice day so far. Yesterday I walked back to the house from the beach and heard a crrrrrrraaaaaaaccccckkkkk. Turned around and right where I was walking 3 minutes prior, a big branch came tumbling down. Damn scrappy oaks. Nearly killed me.
Peace and have a gouda day

I really really love to eat cheese. But when people are cheesy...it's pathetic.

Great post!
As I sit here eating my string cheese (hey, I've got kids- at least it's not cheese food)I am once again disappointed in the behavior of humans. Especially #s 1, 3, & 5. Number 2 and 4 bothered me as well, but I guess it's the business thing. I've come to expect it from someone trying to make a buck (or 5). But the face to face personal ones and a child's school?--RATS that's what they are.
I looked up scrappy oak-couldn't find a picture of it. Is it the same as a scrub oak? What is a scrappy oak?
I hope next time you educate #3 as to the availability of taxis and buses. Maybe you could whisper it to her......
H - I doubt you'll find scrappy oak anywhere. Thats just what I call them. I really love trees, I love their energy. But these guys are a mess. I'm not sure what kind of oaks they are, not scrub oaks, though. Maybe I'll think to take some pictures...
