I was reading on MSN this morning, "Inside The Human Body". It had pictures of o
rgans and such. One picture was of a container of fat...5 pounds of it to be exact. Also in this piece was a statement that goes like this, "...you recreate your bones every ten years. If you don't do some sort of weight-bearing exercise, your bones will become fragile from osteoporosis and break more easily."
My question is this:
If you are carrying <insert number here> pounds of fat, wouldn't that be a continual "weight-bearing" excercise, thus, good for your bones????
And something else I was wondering about...
I remember reading that smoking can take 7 years off your life. I also remember reading that flossing can add about 6 years to your life.
Do I have to spell it out?
I just don't understand why so called experts can make such blank statements. Like there are no variables, ever.
Take poor Aunt Edna, who got hit by a bus. If only she had flossed.
Is it a wonder we become jaded and cynical when we are fed all this baloney? Neurotic and anxious? If it doesn't make sense, how can I take it seriously?
All I know for sure is today there is a wonderful fragrance in the air, from a bush with little white flowers that grow wild. The breeze is magnificent, no humidity, and the sun is shining brightly. I just moved a bunch of rocks...big ones, little ones. I feel good. The weather is good. I need to make macaroni salad to go with supper.
Thats all I know for sure.

Peace, and remember to floss

What this means is that if I floss I can resume my full-time smoking habit?

Elf,
Yep, you describe me my friend...jaded, cynical, neurotic and anxious. I need to remember to focus more on the things I know for sure. Love how you put it. You are quite the writer-
A fan-n-friend, Paige
Sorry about the loss of your aunt.
On another note-if I floss 3x day-can I smoke and perhaps actually live EVEN LONGER???
